• And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."
    Matthew 4:19

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Study Center Program operates through a partnership between PBWI and local churches. Pastors serve as facilitators or tutors to a group of at least seven students who enroll in PBWI’s online certificate courses via the Renewing the Philippines website. Students’ progress through the program by watching video lessons, reading manuscripts, and completing quizzes. Alongside their self-paced study, pastors guide discussions—either face-to-face or online—to reinforce learning and encourage application. Certificates of completion are issued by PBWI for online-based learners and by the church for those using printed materials. This flexible, pastor-led structure ensures contextualized discipleship and leadership development within each local church.

MINISTRY STRATEGY

🎯 Purpose

The Study Center Program exists to multiply disciples through the local church by providing accessible and practical theological training. It empowers pastors to lead structured, gospel-centered discipleship that results in spiritual growth and missional outreach within their communities.

👁️ Vision

The vision is to see each participating church become a center for learning and mission—raising up men and women grounded in biblical truth who are prepared to proclaim Christ in their villages and beyond. By integrating theological education with intentional discipleship, the program strengthens both local churches and the broader mission of the Church.

CORE PROGRAM ELEMENTS

🔵 Church-Based Learning Hub. Study Centers operate within the local church, where discipleship and training happen in the context of real-life ministry and relationships.

🔵 Pastor as Facilitator. The pastor plays a dual role as both a learner and a guide, providing support and accountability as students’ progress through their studies.

🔵 Flexible Learning Format. Pastors may facilitate discussions in person or online, based on the needs and accessibility of their students.

🔵 Self-Paced with Accountability. Students move through lessons at their own pace while remaining accountable through regular pastoral check-ins and progress monitoring.

🔵 Modular, Bible-Based Curriculum. Certificate courses consist of structured modules designed to develop theological understanding and ministry readiness.

🔵 Dual Certification Track. PBWI awards certificates to those who complete courses online, while churches may issue certificates for printed-material learners—ensuring accessibility in all contexts.

🔵 Missional Discipleship. The end goal is not only learning but also sending—mobilizing trained believers to proclaim the gospel and help establish worshiping communities.

🔵 Local Church Ownership. The program places the primary responsibility of training future leaders in the hands of the local church. By empowering the pastor to facilitate and oversee the process, the Study Center model strengthens church-based discipleship and leadership development.

IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY

🔵 Becoming a Study Center

A pastor begins by enrolling in a PBWI certificate course to familiarize himself with the content. He then recruits a minimum of seven students from his congregation to study alongside him. Students register through the Renewing the Philippines website, select a course, and complete the lessons and quizzes provided.

 🔵 Teaching and Facilitation

The pastor acts as a facilitator, guiding students through discussions either face-to-face or online. This allows churches to tailor the learning experience according to local needs and preferences.

🔵 Monitoring and Reporting

Pastors regularly monitor student progress and submit monthly reports to PBWI. They may also set their own timelines for module completion to suit the pace and availability of their group.

🔵 Completion and Certification

After fulfilling all course requirements, students receive a certificate of completion. PBWI issues certificates for online learners, while churches may present certificates for those using print-based materials.
